Sweet Treats is the name of this Bonus Block and the pattern sheet gives you three options for colours and shadings, including a variety of placements for the squares and triangles.
As you can see from the photo, I made my own option, which is a very slight adaptation of the third option on the pattern sheet.
Instead of cutting four squares to create the centre of the basket, I just cut one large square from Easy Living Toweling. The size to cut is 5" x 5" for the large block and 2 ¾" x 2 ¾" for the small block.
I have not used Easy Living toweling in any blocks so far but the colours match the Lakeside Toweling in the previous blocks and the checks add another dimension to the blocks.
I have also cut the square for the E triangles from the same toweling to create a cohesive shape for the basket.
If you are using a large scale check or stripe, like this one, then it is worth taking the time to cut the squares so the stripes are symmetrical.
If the stripes or checks are a little curved, when they come off the roll, then try pressing them with steam and starch while pulling them into shape.
The remainder of the block was cut and assembled according to the pattern sheet.
