This block is titled Stop Go and is by the talented Stacey Test Hsu. Stacey designs lovely fabric, often themed for children or special events such as Valentines Day or Christmas.
I have followed the majority of the cutting and sewing instructions for this one. I did change how I made the B and C strips, on the 9" block, because I wanted the stripe exactly in the centre of the C square. Instead of cutting 1 ½" x 8" strips and then piecing them together and cross cutting, I cut five 1 ½" squares for C and ten 1 ½" squares for B. I cut the C squares with the stripe exactly in the centre of the square.
I placed the stripes in the 9" block running all in the same direction and I also used a lovely directional apple print from Midnight in the Garden by Sweetfire Road. So I made this block directional: all the stripes point in the same direction as the apples.
The 4 ½" block was made following the cutting and piecing instructions. I made sure I cut the F squares so the stripes were placed in the same location on each. When I sewed the F squares into the quilt I decided it would be nice to have the stripes radiating out from the centre, making this block multi directional.
I look forward to seeing your Stop Go blocks.
Happy Sewing
Jenelle
