Summer Solstice New Toweling Patterns

Summer Solstice wovens and toweling will be arriving in stores April 2026. I can't wait!

This blog will introduce all the new toweling patterns I have designed using the 12 Summer Solistice 18" wide Moda towelings.

There are 3 projects/patterns designed for this toweling collection, as well as a free pattern you can download. You can purchase the patterns from your local quilt store or directly from my website, both paper patterns and PDF downloads are available.

First up is the Limoncello Spritz table runner PTT 282.

This is an applique project which you can complete with either fused or needle turn techniques.

I have used 3 Charm Packs to complete the applique, plus a little yardage for the bias vine.

Below is a close up of the runner on a lighter coloured toweling.

It measures 18" x 50".

You might have some Charm Packs or a Layer Cake at home, that would be perfect for the applique. Now you just need to find an 18" wide Moda toweling to work for the background. There are lots of colour and stripe patterns to choose from.

If you would like some tips and tricks about Needle turn applique please watch the video below.

PTT 283 is Knit Happens.

This is a knitting or crochet project bag, complete with a big zipper pocket.

This bag is perfect for storing your yarn and your knitting project, keeping it safe, clean and all together.

Knit Happens also contains the instructions for a knitting needle and crochet hook roll.

This is a great way to keep your needles clean and tidy. Mine used to live in a bag, and it always took a while to find a pair! Now both needles are together in their sleeve.

It is very easy to see if you have the right needles for a project.

You can customise the needle roll by sewing the pockets at widths that suit your collection of needles.

If you have lots of thick needles, sew some wider pockets.

PTT 284 - The Gather and Go Bag.

A favourite bag of mine that I use for my applique tools and requirements.

It stores my scissors, donut of assorted threads, needles, pencil and perfect circles.

I can literally gather it up and go!

It's so handy I made 2 of these.

The other is equipped with my English Paper Piecing requirements.

Here is the inside of the Gather and Go Bag.

There are pockets on the inside of the flap and also the bag.

Everything fits perfectly and it makes it very easy to find the tools you need.

The bag measures 8" x 7" x 4" so it sits perfectly on a small side table while you sit and stitch.

I promised you a free pattern and here it is.

This is the foldie Holdie Bag.

It measures 9" x 8" x 3" and is made with 3 Fat 1/8th and 18" of toweling.

You can download the pattern here.

I have also put together an instructional video for this bag so please watch it if you like.

I hope these patterns encourage you to have a go at sewing with Moda toweling. There are many to choose from, I am sure you can find one to suit.

Till next time,

Happy Sewing

Jenelle
