Well, it's always a great day when I am able to share a new fabric line with everyone.

This new line is called Summer Solstice and features a serene palette of sun-washed yellow and tranquil, coastal blues. Summer Solstice brings the warmth and ease of sun-drenched afternoons to life.
This collection features 22 wovens, all 44" wide that are the perfect weight for regular patchwork quilts. They are silky soft, 100% cotton and will add joy and life to your next project.
Summer Solstice also includes 12 Towelings, all 18" wide, 100% cotton and hemmed on the edges. These are perfect for table runners, towels, table napkins, placemats, applique projects, bags and pillows.

Let's take a closer look at the wovens that are in Summer Solstice.
There are a mixture of checks and stripes, all woven with dyed threads that make the pattern, so often it is difficult to tell the right and wrong sides of these fabrics. I think that is a good thing, it makes for less mistakes. I have certainly been guilty of piecing a print the wrong way up, in my quilts, so with wovens you will be unable to tell!
The darker blue is based on the Moda Bella Solid Nautical Blue 9900 236, the light blues are Bella Solid Waterfall, number 9900 397 and the yellows are Bella Solid Afternoon 9900 318. If you are looking for plain coordinates for this range then these would be my go-to's.
If you want a plain white then I would use Bella Solid Off White 9900 200. I have used this in some projects and it is perfect.

Here's another look at the Summer Solstice Wovens.
These are the cap-sets of fabric that the Moda Sales team show shop owners.
You can see that I have included a few of my signature woven dot. There is yellow, waterfall blue, mid blue and dark blue. These are such a useful fabric. Because the dot pattern is woven it means the back and front are the opposite of each other. So the dark blue one has white dots on one side and dark blue dots on the other. Both sides look great, but you get two fabrics in one!
You can use whichever side you like.

There are Summer Solstice pre-cuts too.
Here are the Layer Cakes and Charm Packs.
There are also Fat 1/4 bundles.
I have created projects using each of these pre-cuts, which I will reveal in a subsequent blog.
Lets look closer at the 18" wide towelings from Summer Solstice.
Here are some closer pictures of the towelings. These are folded, but you can easily see the woven patterns and colours.
These photos show where the stripes are positioned on the fabric. Having the plain space down the centre makes it a great location to add some machine embroidery or applique.

For Summer Solstice I have tried something a little different.
I painted some sunflowers, and Moda have printed them onto a white and blue striped toweling and a blue with yellow striped toweling.
I really enjoyed doing this and if you have any suggestions of painted patterns you would like on toweling just let me know in the comments below.
These are ready to use as a table runner, or maybe placemats just as they are. Just hem the short ends.

I have made a lumbar pillow from the blue background sunflowers.
As usual Miss Masala likes to photo bomb, you can see her in the background. She likes to be involved.
I think she probably deserves a blog post of her own, her backstory is pretty amazing.
So I hope you enjoyed this introduction to Summer Solstice, I will follow up with a few posts about all the projects I have designed using this line.
Summer Solstice is available for shops to order now. It will arrive in stores April 2026. If you would like to sew with Summer Solstice, let your favourite quilt shop know, so they can order it.
I will finish with a final photo of the full range featuring both the wovens and the towelings.

Till next time,
Happy Sewing
Jenelle
